Platforms and Cobblestones

My epic search for block heels and wedges continues as I am going to Florence for second semester. Nothing says embarrassing walk to school like your stiletto heel getting caught in the cobblestones... non merci, I will stick to block heels and wedges, hopefully that will allow me to avoid any super mortifying moments in Italy. There are plenty of shoes that I've been obsessing over but probably won't buy.

Maybe I will find replicas of these at vintage/thrift stores (not likely) or I will break down and stray from my budget to indulge in one or two pairs. Until then I'll stick to dreaming about these beauties gracing my feet as I prance around Italy sipping wine and stuffing my face.

Avalon Exchange

K, I know it’s been forever since I posted. But, c’est la vie, I’ve been busy. Now I’m back, the endless summer has begun and I have to talk about the newest part of my life. Avalon Exchange consignment shop. I got home for spring break in April and I went to my favorite street in all of the east side of Cleveland, Coventry, which is filled with kinda edgy, dear I say hipster-ish shops and lots of good restaurants and bars. Now, I’ve been frequenting this place since I was like 5, so when there is a new place it sticks out like a sore thumb. On the corner of the street right next to one of my favorite shops was this interesting new place with cute stuff in the window so I took a peak in.

This is the part where I die and fall to my knees in bliss. But that actually happened. There was so much there that I would buy on the spot, and there was a surprising amount of vintage. The best part was there wasn’t anything over 100 dollars and most of the apparel was under 20. I snagged an awesome sweater light blue sweater, and a white sheer button down and I just recently sold some things there and got almost 50 dollars. I’d previously been super weary about these sort of stores because of several terrible experiences at places like Plato’s closet. Luckily you’ll be hard pressed to find a single piece of clothing from American Eagle or Abercrombie and most of it is in really goo quality and there was quite a bit of designer stuff too.

All in all, Avalon Exchange gets an A+!
